Weight Gain Thread

I did some research and confirmed with a trainer at my gym if I intake sufficient calories, carbs and protein and do a 3 day rotation (Mostly supersets to exhaustion) Ill gain around 1 pound of muscle a week. I haven't lifted in a while so the shock will hit my body hard + I build muscle pretty fast.

Again thanks for the advice Talisman, Im already pretty motivated and my diet/workout routine is very well planned out. Going into my 10 day hardcore start-up and then balancing out after that.

Question: How do you know if you have a lot of water weight? I mean I try to drink a gallon of water a day but I do cardio so I don't know if I have a lot of water weight. I guess what I'm asking is: What is water weight and how do you know if you have a lot of it? thanks!

it's hard to tell how much of your weight is water weight (I think)... unless you're willing to stop drinking as much water and see how much mass you lose, but that's kind of a silly idea. ironically, if you're dehydrated you'll retain more h2o because your body goes into "survival mode" and clings to the little h2o you drink (but that's unlikely with a gal. of h2o daily). also, water weight tends to make you look "bloated" (esp. the stomach region) even if you're relatively lean, so that's one way to tell.

-edit- I'm thinking of posting my progess pics soon... I've gone from 130~ lbs to 165 in two years & I want opinions >:D

If you jump on a scale before you workout and then after and you lost weight, it's water.

If you don't mind me saying: Damn, dude! You're already at where I wanna be! XD

Anyways, good luck with this.
