Lightening Returns Final Fantasy XIII

It looks the same lol.

I've never had any beef with the FFXIII franchise. Thought the first game was....... ok, not awful but not great.
Thought XIII-2 was quite good, big improvement over XIII in almost every way, albeit i hate story DLC....
And so i will get this game as a FF and jrpg fan because i don't care.

The thing is i'm not hype about it, i wasn't hype over any FF game since before XI and will never be again until GOD DAMN VERSUS XIII COMES OUT.

The game looks interesting, hope interesting translates to good later on.

But in reality all i want is Versus XIII, the reason i have a PS3, and Type-0 which is quite good as well.

Biggest problems with FF13 ran the gamut of a meandering story with little information supplied to the reader/player of the world setting or the characters (or why we should care). There are a few good points in the story, but ultimately it fails and the payoff isn't there.

Other issues included the summon system that's largely useless by the middle half of the game, with characters still acquiring them by the late game. Improving weapons and equipment feels tacked off and most encounters are slap-dashed. The Paradigm system is weak, lacking of depth and often consists of buffing, healing, and smashing enemies in an MMO style setup. Rather boring, as we've seen similar (albeit somewhat deeper) combat systems from earlier games in the series and elsewhere.

FF13-2 doesn't improve much as it takes the little payoff in FF13 and invalidates with a new story quest that's ultimately invalidated by the end game (leaving no payoff). Further the game starts chucking out some goddess and prophetess which, may or may not, have been mentioned in the first game. And if it was, it certainly wasn't included in the main story line that everyone plays and was probably buried somewhere deep in the analects data log. The combat system is literally the same as the first with little deviation and some slight refinements. It barely helps, however, that neither Serah nor Noel are truly that different from each other beyond cosmetics and a (very) few exclusive sets of skills.

Perhaps LR: FF13 might give us some new game play ideas and abilities (the "equips" seem kind of interesting), but I've pretty much given up hope on getting any sort good story. I'm not sure where idea of these four worlds come from. Or why the world is ending in thirteen days (didn't it already end with the appearance of Valhalla in 13-2?). Most of what they showed makes literally no cohesive sense from FF13-2's ending.

Much as I wasn't fond of how the system played out, that bolded statement is the gist of every FF fight since 1. The fact that you use this as a detractor is kinda dumb.

And no, XIII was not an MMO setup. XII was an MMO setup.

FF12 didn't use a traditional MMO setup. FF12 is primarily designed around an auto-battle mechanic through the use of Gambits. Elements of tanking, dealing damage, and healing are a fundamental part of the game play since those roles do not exist in the game structure. FF12's MMO-like setups revolved around the exploration/navigation of areas and confront enemies on the same screen.

FF13 consists of more MMO-like roles (Commando, Ravager, Sentinel, Medic, etc) through the use of Paradigm Shifts.

And this is what I was specifying when I talked about combat systems from prior games:
Offering + Genji Glove = 8 Attacks.
NSG Challenge. Albeit FF13 offers similar challenges. I merely selected this to represent the depth one can do with this system utilizing the unique abilities provided by each character.

And those are just some examples.

Oh my poor, poor ego.

Tis a poor ego indeed. It can't even afford worthwhile opinions.

FF13 doesn't have an MMO set-up at all. The paradigms are roles sure but they have a limited value for each character and why/how you unlock it all it totally different than the standard MMO skill tree. Since each character can max out all things, they can all be any role at any time, unlike MMO's. The battle system is straight up nothing like any MMO out there. Even how you run around the world in a linear fashion doesn't do jack shit like an MMO. They don't tell the story like an MMO, they don't do ANYTHING like it.

FF12 does almost..... everything like an MMO. In MMO's you explore the area with mission bases to level up. The battle system is exactly like most MMO's only since it's 1 player, the Gambit system is used in place of having to manually do everything for the other party members and because it's a grind fest, LIKE AN MMO, used to have a level of auto play that broke the god damn game. The Licence's are closer to a traditional MMO skill tree than the Crystal stuff in 13 ever was, you get to choose how you character plays out over time both in skills nad weapons. Albeit eventually you get everything which no MMO should ever do, and don't that i know of.
Some characters are better Tanks, and Healers, and Offensive Magic users in the game than others.

I literally do not understand how or what you're talking about with FF13 trying to be like an MMO but FF12 NOT being so and nothing you said showed anything at all as to why.

You're a joke my friend. You can type walls of text all day, but they don't mean anything if you're an idio....... a Windstar.

Also is this the beginning of yet ANOTHER argument on 8WR involving Animefreak? Will he be victorious this time as he is every other time? CAN WINDSTAR TAKE HIS BEATINGS LIKE A MAN/WOMAN/FUTANARI SEX SLAVE AND COME BACK STRONGER THAN EVER????
Find out next time on..... FORUM TROLL Z.......

Also know it's not, because i don't care about FF13 and even if what you said is write, which it is NOT, i and most others shouldn't care because the game is at BEST OK and at worst OK, it's an OK game.

Don't taze me bro.
