Expanding 8WR to more than just Soulcalibur?

Yea please work with the other communities since we don't want another episode like DL drama.

Otherwise, I kind of like the general fighting games theme with an emphasis on the tourney info and like. Though it seems like it could become a general site where the people from 8WR hangout where we might be hard pressed to get newcomers...but that's just me.
 
This is a great website, but, there are already websites out there dedicated to their respective games, which makes it a hard sell to get anyone new to join. If I were looking for information for another fighter, I'd go to their main website which will undoubtedly contain the best/most information. Huge chunks of what was on AstralHeat seemed to have been directly copy/pasted from DustLoop, which doesn't serve any purpose as the information was already on DustLoop in the first place.

You'll also end up cluttering up this site with a bunch of games/information that not everyone cares about. If you include Tekken information, you'll end up bugging those of us who don't play Tekken for example. Now, if you could set up some sort of filtering by game to weed out one's that you aren't interested in, then that would be great :)

If you look at SRK, they don't generally set up massive forum setups for games that there are already established communities for. Like for Blazblue, they didn't set up a ton of subforums for each character, but, just made one big disorganized mess of a thread for each character (whether that's better than having a bunch of mostly empty sub-forums is debatable). I do like their general fighting game forum though, lots of very little known games (at least, one's I've never heard of) get discussed there.

Whatever you decide to do, don't ruin the best Soul Calibur website :)
 
IMO I think we should combine with BB because most of the SC players here play BB and theres barley any forums at astralheat.
 
not sure it would be a good idea only because it might backfire and take away from the sc community which seems too be dwindiling however the sub forums is a good idea where people that play SC on a serious level can post there expierences with other fighters and set up friendly challenges in other games with other serious SC players who just want a break from SC with out dealing with the elitist from other fighting game communitys

i used too play VF seriously and when ever a new fighter would come out (sc4 sf4 blazeblue) the level of hate was ridiculous on the forum and it created tension between players then they would go too other forums and complain about the game in question

let 8wrdc remain dedicated too SC and have sub forums on other games that are played by the SC community for general disscussion thats just my expierence
