Expanding 8WR to more than just Soulcalibur?

I talked about this with some people last week, and yes - this site is absolutely spectacular (with many of the setups created by jaxel himself).

two ideas come into mind:
1- License out your creations, so to speak, to the other major communities. Srk, TZ, Dustloop, etc. All of those sites run VBulletin, and Jaxel is a G at vbulletin, they could really benefit from his involvement (for a price of course).

2- Create a NEW community based on ALL fighting games and information sharing between sites. The new community will have all the VBulletin shit that already made this site awesome, a blog where all different fighting game scenes are covered, a ranking for all the major games, etc. It will be the ultimate fighting game site because it wont focus on competition between communities, rather their collaboration.
For example, we can have correspondents in Tekken, BlazBlue, SF4, that will patrol the other sites for news, strats, etc and then post them up on this new site (with proper credit given of course).
The blog itself can be used to announce news, tournament results and view live streams all from the front page without searching.

The video section can be expanded to all games (like combovideos.com used to be).

And finally, with Jaxel's ranking system and a UNIFIED site, we will be able to do imo the most important thing in any kind of scene - promote the PLAYERS rather than just the game - create superstars, rivalries, etc.

So yeah, all those other sites = planeteers.
Jaxel's new site = Captain Planet

Good ideas though Serge.

As a pro, I suck. As a gamer, I have a desire to see the community strengthened and unified. A community where everything functions together would be ideal.

We are at Tekken 6 and SC4 as well as SF4. Now we have Blaze Blue. Without a really strong community getting behind these companies I feel like things like Evo and Final Round could fall by the wayside. Its time for the fighter community to be heard louder than ever. I am one to not care so much about story. I would love to see Tekken11 and SC15. Keep it balanced is all I care about.

Why do we strive for competition? Why do we trash talk? Because it brings us together. Those who don't understand (media, parents, spouses) have a voice louder than ours. Heck...Congress could easily legislate us out of exsistence. Well....maybe not. But more than those is if we become stagnat for to long we won't be around to long.

A one stop hot spot for all organizers and staffers would rock. Get them tools and recources to let thier voice be heard. Lets get these tournaments bigger than they have ever been before. Lets kick up the competition a little. And what about tools for gamers wanting to break into the scene? No reason why we cant have something dedicated to pro tips, lessons, snd how to's.

^^^ wat he said. one unified forum with the major tips for each game would be wonderful.
watever my voice is worth i say do it.

i think most people here will be getting tekken, i dont think anyone would mind if you shifted the site focus for a while... until the next sc anyway.
