ya, or you clearly haven't tried something like ffxi that puts WoW's "absurd amounts of coordination" to shame... wow = mmo ezmode ... although ffxi = unnecessarily difficult (i admit it, and love it ... it's toned down now though through patches and new features)

the system even has built in "calls" you can macro so that you can coordinate actions off of several different types of alarm noises ... i kno WoW incorporated something similar eventually, but the call system has more general uses and is not just for raiding
 
FFXI is a nightmare, running around all day... bland characters/scenery, unnecessarily difficult.

Yuck. (sorry had to add my two cents on that one)

I reiterate. Take a stroll into 25 man Trial of the crusader or 25 man Ulduar and you will encounter no "ezmode".


I will say though that I was thinking does complexity necessarily make things better?

I think FFXI is holding up remarkably well considering it came out in 2002. Anyway, im not going to hate on you for disliking the game, I'll just say: ...I dissagree. ^_^

Also, It has gotten easier than it once was. Blessing or Curse, take it as you see it.

and Ghengis_John I gotta say, really spend some time in vana'diel first before you start saying how all this stuff is more difficult than it. We said the normal leveling was more challenging and required greater coordination. This statement still holds true. Really, comparing Endgame Raiding to normal leveling? And you havent ever been through FFXI endgame, thats a whole new level. Anyway, you might want to really take a spin with FFXI before you start panning its complexity compared to WoW... a game that (not my particular belief, exactly) Is often considered an easymode game by other MMO communities. I'm just saying, not an attack on you.

okay, yeah, had this post on my mind for the past 4 hours when I got kicked off the comp, heh...

seriously though, I dont mean it as an attack. :)
