Aion - new MMO out 9/22

Aion has regional lockouts. I know you can bypass them with 3rd party programs, but there is really no need for a translator for the North American release when it'll be, ideally, just North Americans playing it.

ah, touche

I'll probably give FFXIV a try when it comes out too. I have a friend who is crazy fanboy head over heels smitten with FFXI and I'll have to at least try it out for his sake.

i hope its takes the best of ffxi and improves on the not-so-good ... if it does i think ull be there to stay =)

cya there

well being that it's not even released yet i'm gonna get into it and hope that the devs will fix all the endgame stuff before my lazy ass finally makes it there ... i'm pretty confident the asian crowd is gonna keep a solid community in aion so im not too afraid of the game dying ...

they really do need to add a translator though ... playing ffxi with japanese players was like being on a pro football team every session ... plays running like clockwork

You can't "wait" for dev's to fix anything in a korean game. This was learned the hard way in RF online. The most americans can do is pass on our complaints to the foreign development team.

Yeah, I cant wait for it as well, here's hoping it's good.

Anyway, with so many other MMOs looming on the horizon now, I wonder what you guys might think about them? With Champions Online, Prius Online (rumored to be getting licensing out of SEA region), Soul of the Ultimate Nation (which got licensing back recently) Mabinogi: Heroes, and Blade & Soul on the not-so-distant horizon, just to name a few. Any thoughts on them? (continues the derailed Aion thread.)

The only new MMO I've spent any time on (as in beta play and trolling a board or two) is Aion.

I know what they all look like and what they all would seem to play like on the surface, but not enough to pass any judgment on them.

ditto ... i'm always looming around looking for new mmo's (or just games in general i guess) ... the only thing that's piqued my interest in a long time is aion ... the only other mmo i would even consider is ffiv ... champions online looked interesting only because i was a city of heroes player for some time, but meh
