Aion - new MMO out 9/22

I'm not going to get deep into WoW nerd-dom, but to say that the talent trees are just giving you the illusion of choice is a fallacy.

They've long since made virtually every tree for every class fill a niche that is decently different and ultimately viable for whatever role the talent tree is aimed for.

...but who knows... Aion, in my opinion, is going to be just like AoC and WAR...

eh, as I said, I dont have a huge amount of experience with WoW, I gave it three months of dedicated play at different times, but it just wasnt for me. Anyway, a job system with great amount of choice and variety, I'll choose FFII for that. Changing jobs at will with just a simple visit to the mog house and subjobs to put whole different spins on a job. But thats just me.

Anyway, with Aion just coming out, I'm not going to even touch what they have in store as far as endgame is concerned.

Also, as far as healers go, Not all MMOs are so gear based in that way, and just because gear might not add to healing ability doesnt mean that healing will be stuck at a low cap, or be unable to break a soft cap or anything like that, I'm sure there is some scaling system in place.

there is no other drawback to switching jobs in ffxi than goin to the moghouse ... in some areas you don't even need a house, just go to the nearest nomad moogle ... sux that no one plays this game but there are definitely reasons why its the only mmo i keep going back to after trying others and still play it ...

i'm thinkin of lvlin puppetmaster next (yup, it's a melee-based class where you also control a robot puppet that you can swap parts in and out from so that it can perform the way you want it to, whether it be healing, nuking, melee-ing, ranger-ing, whatever)

anyway WoW does give more choices to each class, i just don't like the way it's done ... why pick a summoner if they're just going to nuke? (destro lock) ... i dunno stuff like that is not exactly what i call variety but it's just mostly personal preference ... i loved ffxi's system

as for ffiv, all i heard was that experience points will not be used for character development and weapons will play a major role in how you customize, develop and play your character ... but man do i hope they keep the job system and teamwork-based combat system (party members work together to beat enemies, they don't just spam spells and skills at the same time to beat enemies)

You clearly have not been in the high end dungeons which require absurd amounts of coordination to get through.

quoted for speaking da troofs, my friend. xD... Good luck with PUP though.

One of my favorite things in FFXI had to be the BLU, The System for gaining Blue Magic has always been a favorite feature of mine since FF5.

I do wish more people still played it though... Also, Translator feature, seriously awesome stuff there. Thats another feature I'm surprised is not a regular feature in other MMOs.

Oh, If it ever actually comes out, Ragnarok Online 2 has been said to have a job system somewhat simillar to FFXI, where you can change jobs at will and keep the levels, but also you can add abilities from other jobs to your characters skillset. just struck me to say that for similarity's sake.

You clearly have not been in the high end dungeons which require absurd amounts of coordination to get through.

In FFXI, you need the absurd coordination just to fight normal mobs for exping. just something you might not know if you havent played it.

In FFXI, except for a few special circumstances, areas, or conditions, Soloing is nearly out of the question because even easy prey monsters might beat you senseless.
