This is only catering towards 3D fighting games which will be later explained.

Another thing to note even if the game is side scrolling, as long as itz in a 3D environment I still consider it a 3D fighting game (for eg. Street Fighter 4).

As the topic asks do you think more fighting games should appear on PC?

For me I would say yes for the following reasons:

-The ability mod it: If you play games like Doom 3, Quake, GTA 3, UT3 they're most likely modded versions of them. With that I think it gives rise to enthusiast to mod fighting games to make them more balanced.

-Level creation: In addition to modding games like Half-Life 2 and UT3 include a level editing tool. Think of how cool it will be to have a 3D fighting arena built with your own textures and 3D-made objects from another 3D program (3Ds Max, Maya, Soft Image etc.)

-Peripherals: Other than PC controllers, Arcade sticks are compatible with PC, so is the PS3 controller and Xbox 360 (but of course it depends on the type of OS you're using). Imagine a tournament where Xbox, PS3 and even PC fans meet together and duke it out.

The reason it has to be more 3D fighting games for PC is because of the ability to mod it and to create levels.

I think PC really only caters to people that are going to be playing mainly online. When I get a fighting game, I want to play offline with friends and PC's are not as multi-player friendly as a console and a giant tv. (but you can hook up your computer to your tv... I know, no one does it.)

There's options to play multiplayer on the same PC, I used to play GG#R on my cousin's PC with him a while back. Most PCs will have multiple USB ports, so this is only as much of an issue as the PC you're playing on creates, which has always been the case with any PC game.

I don't see much reason for a fighting game NOT to be released on PC, other than a lack of potential sales figures. It's not like we're gonna start running tournaments on them or anything.
