Just got done playing. Fugo isn`t there, I think. He was free in Japan mostly as an apology for the backlash. We`ll see when he finally goes up.

I agree the online can make some characters far less effective, like Diavolo and Kakyoin. As for the horse characters, at least Johnny can combo into getting back on the horse, and then continue the combo. They`re both supposed to be really good.
 
Shame about Fugo, but it can't be helped. I'm not sure if I want to buy the DLC characters as they come, or wait and see if the release a big, slightly cheaper package deal. Baoh looks fun as hell to play, I must admit.

One thing I've got to bring up is the translation. My initial reaction was probably as negative as anyone else's, with changes like "Zipper Man" and "Damn meased to pleat ya!", but playing the game and seeing it all for myself has given me the chance to really appreciate it. It plays out like some dumb anime dub from the '90s, which is a vibe I think really works in JoJo's favour. Lines like "Who's the man? YES I AM" and "Balls deep" really got me enjoying the game I was playing on another level.

How would Underworld work, as a fighting style? Bringing up memories of different fights that have taken place, and using those, perhaps? Not very sure where he'd show up on this tier list either...

For me it wasn't the name changes or loose translations so much as the cases where they straight up ignore what's being said and inserted some random internet meme.

Like Joseph's "The Room Reference"
Ermes' "Come at me bro!"
Iggy's "Om nom nom!"

Like, that stuff in particular to me isn't fun. I'm just waiting to see one of the characters make "doge" reference when fighting Iggy at this point.

Also, I know that chart is just for laughs, but didn't Diavolo have a wife and daughter?
 
Joseph makes a The Room reference? You'll have to point that one out to me, I've not seen The Room in years. But yeah, I do see what you mean when they got a bit meme-happy with some of the translation. To be fair with "Damn meased to pleat ya", the original is a joke that plain wouldn't make sense in English. They attempted something in English, and it also didn't work. Can't say they didn't try though. As for Ermes' "Come at me, bro", that's pretty much what she said in the original. "Your opponent is me" is a pretty stock anime phrase really. I'm just glad they didn't change any of the SFX to English though, that would have ruined the vibe.

True, Diavolo did have a short relationship with a woman that resulted in child, but he does spend about two thirds of Vento Aureo trying to "erase the past" that he regrets. Take that as you will.

What the hooha does that mean? It seems like a fairly accurate chart if you ask me.
