It's pretty clever just quoting a "snip" and dismissing my arguments with one sentence, and then rehashing the same crappy appeals to emotion you went through the last time. All my points from my post still stand perfectly, and anybody reading it can see that they still address all the ridiculous new hypothetical examples you went through. In point form:
- you did not address my example with the wolf or the snake. What exactly distinguishes our behavior from theirs? When a wolf is hunting a baby antelope, it seems like the wolf definitely has a lot more power.
- A wolf or snake does not understand morality. They would eat an undefended baby in a moment provided their instincts appropriately recognized it as a meal. These animals don't think, they act on instinct and their instincts are developed to optimize their reproduction and nothing more.
The point of these combined is that we do not treat animals worse than they treat each other, just on a larger scale. That's it. It seems dangerous to say that something done once is moral, but something done many times becomes immoral. Is that your contention?
These points, which you didn't bother addressing, render your silly alien example moot. We can identify alien young and decide how to treat it, we could actively help aliens, show kindness to them, etc. So aliens doing that to us would not be morally equivalent to what we do to animals.
What's funny is, I think I am moderately pro animals. I don't think animals should be able to be treated maliciously without cause. I don't believe in killing for pleasure or sport. I don't think it should be legal to eat dolphins. I don't think it should be legal to eat primates (research is still fair game). But talking to an extremist like you I come off like I beat puppies in my spare time.
I still think you're a good guy and I understand that you don't "mean" to offend when you use the word holocaust. But it is still offensive (I wrote more but I'll leave it at that, I don't want to magnify that aspect of this more than necessary). If you really care about animals, try to present your points to actually have a chance to persuade people and make real change.
People who use the word holocaust do not come off as sincerely concerned individuals to myself nor to anyone I know, they come off as immature highschool/college fanatics going through a phase. Ditto with crazy extreme examples. And for the record you need to work on your debating skills if you want to try to convince anyone of anything, we could switch sides in this discussion and I could do twice as good a job repping your case as you could.
K ill make this short.
1- the wolf and snake thing. i did address it. i said animals do it out of need.
2- i didn't use a silly alien example. In my example the superior race would of evolved with us on earth.
3- lmao im not an extremist.
4- how are you a good debater? i see big flaws in everything you say. you are also not convincing anyone.
5- the holocaust is soft in comparison.
6- your mentality is one of many reasons humans are fucked.
7- lmao again about being a extremist.I dont really care about this subject. The difference is that i know what humans are doing is fucked. and you for some reason cant comprehend it. Dont hide behind your intellect and your reasoning. It does not take a smart person to know whats right and whats wrong.
