Humans are fucked.

Your arguments sound smart but they couldn't be more retarded.

Animals are not like plants. Yes both are alive, but animals can feel pain.

Do you get what that means? When they are hurt, they feel pain. they feel loneliness ect...
We are deliberately inflicting suffering.

Yes animals eat other animals but they do it out of need. We do it out of want. we are perfectly capable of living our lives with out inflicting such suffering. How would you feel if a human baby was born and hes ears where cut of, hes teeth pulled out ect.

The main difference is that we have power and they do not.

Imagine this.

A bigger smarter race was living in our world.
Compared to them we where as dumb as animals are compared to us.
Humans would of never learned to speak ect.. we would pretty much be like any other animal.
What would you think about the other species, harvesting us for food. keeping human women trapped in cages, artificially keeping them pregnant, some human babies would be trapped in cages for months. not allowing moment so there muscles wouldn't develop. In darkness and isolation. This lv of torture would be inflicted just so they could eat there version of Veal.

In any case i do think animals should not be mistreated, They should no suffer simply because we think they taste good, or we want to use there skin, or we think killing them is fun.

I know your Jewish man, and when we played soul cal offline you seemed like a good guy.
i dont mean any disrespect, but the holocaust cant compare to the amount of suffering and torture animals feel and are still feeling.

lol your compering 4 or 5 years of human pain. to what will probably end up being hundred's a years of animal torture. Compare the number of humans that suffered to the number of animals that suffer and are still suffering.

Billions of animals suffer and you think millions of humans suffering in a 4-5 year span is worse? Think about it man.

TBH, topics like these only lead to judging one another which leads to flaming...sure this could be a MATURE debate/argument, but that shit is NEVER going to happen because everyone thinks and feels differently.

I have respect for everyone who want to lead a certain life style because that is THEIR business.
Again, sucks how the process of getting that delicious prime rib on my plate goes, but hey...it is what it is...
If we didn't have animals then we'd all be eating one another by now...
We might as well make a thread about rape victims, prostitution, abortion, religion, war, children being molested and all sorts of shit that by the end of the day, the threads will go NOWHERE.

It's pretty clever just quoting a "snip" and dismissing my arguments with one sentence, and then rehashing the same crappy appeals to emotion you went through the last time. All my points from my post still stand perfectly, and anybody reading it can see that they still address all the ridiculous new hypothetical examples you went through. In point form:

- you did not address my example with the wolf or the snake. What exactly distinguishes our behavior from theirs? When a wolf is hunting a baby antelope, it seems like the wolf definitely has a lot more power.
- A wolf or snake does not understand morality. They would eat an undefended baby in a moment provided their instincts appropriately recognized it as a meal. These animals don't think, they act on instinct and their instincts are developed to optimize their reproduction and nothing more.

The point of these combined is that we do not treat animals worse than they treat each other, just on a larger scale. That's it. It seems dangerous to say that something done once is moral, but something done many times becomes immoral. Is that your contention?

These points, which you didn't bother addressing, render your silly alien example moot. We can identify alien young and decide how to treat it, we could actively help aliens, show kindness to them, etc. So aliens doing that to us would not be morally equivalent to what we do to animals.

What's funny is, I think I am moderately pro animals. I don't think animals should be able to be treated maliciously without cause. I don't believe in killing for pleasure or sport. I don't think it should be legal to eat dolphins. I don't think it should be legal to eat primates (research is still fair game). But talking to an extremist like you I come off like I beat puppies in my spare time.

I still think you're a good guy and I understand that you don't "mean" to offend when you use the word holocaust. But it is still offensive (I wrote more but I'll leave it at that, I don't want to magnify that aspect of this more than necessary). If you really care about animals, try to present your points to actually have a chance to persuade people and make real change.

People who use the word holocaust do not come off as sincerely concerned individuals to myself nor to anyone I know, they come off as immature highschool/college fanatics going through a phase. Ditto with crazy extreme examples. And for the record you need to work on your debating skills if you want to try to convince anyone of anything, we could switch sides in this discussion and I could do twice as good a job repping your case as you could.

As possibly the only person in this thread to ever take a bite out of a warm almost-still beating heart of a dead animal (that I killed), I just want to say that... it's awesome.

Again, Apex Predators.
