Hey hey hey!

If you're willing to learn the moves and when to use them, I would suggest Mitsurugi or Nightmare. Both use ranged normals to excellent efficiency, without massive situational combo knowledge necessary (relatively)...

I'll certainly give Mitsurugi a play, then - coincidentally, he was who I used to play (badly) in Soulcalibur...

[T]his game adds an entire defensive and offensive dimension to fighting games over 2D. It's a hell of a lot more mobile than Tekken or Virtua Fighter, and nothing else really compares anymore...

Mmm, that third axis is gonna take a fair bit of getting used to, I think...

I think that if you can learn to win with Rose, you have a gamer's ability to anticipate and stuff opponent's attacks...

I think it's more that I got good at cr.mp xx Soul Spiral, but thanks! :)

If you can do that in this game, you will win with anyone. Very often.

I do tend to play a more reactionary/ counterattacking game in most of the fighting games I play, I suppose, so it's nice to know that approach is viable in this game. Thanks for all the pointers!

Nice to meet you.

Likewise!
