HRD your right about the special tools required to work on them. This was my first foreign car as Ive always been a fan of Ford but since owning it I realized that the German engineering just seems to be a higher quality than American. It hurts me to say that lol but unfortunately it's true. Bavarian cars are designed to run on their highway system which is of course the Autobahn. I think due too this fact they are built too a higher standard in order to handle the rigors of such high speeds. Also of note is the fact their built too withstand extreme cold.
I have a couple cars a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 1987 Mustang 5.0, 1986 Ford F250 and my 1997 Jetta. Without a doubt my Jetta is the most economical and reliable of the the bunch.
On a side note I just created a thread pertaining too woman and video games. With you being a family man like myself your input would be appreciated.
