Altima for sure, I'm getting my first car either today or tomorrow.

That car is so boring. You can't even hear the motor. =(

If they buy one from the late 80's they aren't powerful at all (~210-230HP for 350 motors around that time). Just semi-loud. Blame the energy crisis in the 70's and many failed attempts to save gas.

True, cars from those times aren't considered fast today. I'm sure Op wants something simple, easy to maintain, good on gas, and a bit stylish w/o being completely slow. Personally, I like the 06- and up Toyota Avalons.
