I guess it just boils down to are we gonna compete with existing sites for other games or co-exist side by side. I'm open for anything as long as it is well organized. Personally I like to see us stick with only SC. Just whatever you do, dont expand too big without some way to connecting them otherwise we may just end up diluting what's already out there. If we do expand to include other games, I agree with suggestins above, a main hub - Central hub --> sections 8wayrun, AstralHeat, etc etc...
In terms of site feature expansion, personally I like to see more in depth features. The podcast idea is great start. Maybe include editorial section with articles to include reviews on fighting games (past and present), hardware (fighting sticks, mods, etc), Techniques, how-to's and styles. I know alot of this is in forum posts and we have wiki's to refer to but an opinionated article could add a personal feel especially coming from great players.
It's tough question moving forward... trying to stay fresh and being specific to one game is really tough. But why does everyone feel as if there is some dire end to this game just because SCIV is waning? I mean... look at the long hiatus between Street Fighter III (and spin off capcom mixes) and Street Fighter IV yet there were dedicated sites & fanbase that kept going on. Until Namco comes out with an official statement stating the final demise of the franchise, I wouldn't rule out the series continuing. Obviously they still have interests (and probably aiming at handheld for now because console sales for one arent great in Japan and current economic conditions arent really conducive to pushing out new games).
This is primarily the last Soul Calibur website I know of that's around. (soulcaliburuniverse.com and others are long gone. (Forget caliburforum as it always somehow seems to be ridden with issues...) I guess it boils down to the longevity and popularity of this game (among fans) and whether the time (and money) is worth it to keep sustaining it. (but I hope it keeps going....)
In the meantime, I'll keep doing my part contributing to this site.
