I seem to be running behind here, would anyone mind linking me to the press conferences so that I can join in knowing what I'm taking about?
I've watched a bunch of bits and pieces but I'd like to see the things run all the way through. I've also read every post in the thread from start to finish but I don't always know what's being referenced and tracking down pieces doesn't seem to be culminating in the complete picture.
I've heard a lot of complaints in watching trailers about Team Ninja's take on Metroid and Kojima's take on Castlevainia. These hardcore fanboys disappoint me and I'm not really sure what they want and I can't speak definitively until I know more but the biggest complaints seem to be "This isn't the way series x should be! WAAA!" "Metroid is a first person shooter waaa!" (it was a third person action game once actually) "Castlevania is 2d! waaa" (It's been 3d before) I wish they'ed wait before panning these new iterations for being unfamiliar. Cross pollination of ideas can be a beautiful thing and my hopes are high.
Milo was impressive. And scary. I can see this leading to some strange emotional attachments for people. And some odd headlines. Like "Man kills wife for deleting virtual friend". At least if it all works the way it's supposed to. If it accomplished anything I was instantly insanely jealous of anyone is the game's industry and lionhead specifically while I watched it. It's an exciting innovation. If it works.
That's a shame because unlike outfits it would rekindle some genuine interest in SCIV and I am absolutely loving the look of this Dampiere guy. Makes me wanna kick some ass and eat some Pringles. And I also see that some new levels have been introduced. Again a shame no DLC as interesting arenas are one thing Vanillia SCIV was lacking in. The game looks simply beautiful still which is impressive on a hand held system no less. Even Kratos, a character who's "spirit" I could never really get into looks pretty interesting here. I know since the fanboys wanted the big K from day one they have to be pretty excited.
