yeah dude.. like one thing that bugs me though is how people say Sony and microsoft should thank nintendo for this idea. (motion control tech)
because if you think about what MS and Sony are doing or what they're bringing home to you with the "new" eyetoy and natal.. it is not just a new way to control your game. and when Miyamoto said is comment that he was flattered about all this.. i was flabergasted. like wow. how can pompous can you be?
if you think about it, some of the stuff that natal brings to the table refines what the eyetoy brought during the ps2 and following in the ps3 eyetoy games. and there are differences, but that's like saying coke and pepsi. It's the same fucking drink, just tastes different.
cause i did some research into Augmented reality for a project i'm working on and if all goes according to plan, i'll get to play with this shit first hand (I can't wait! god i hope i get the green light). but essentially none of this stuff that sony and ms introduced at e3 2k9 is new, it's just refined tech for consumers. what blew me away is that Nintendo is only reaching the tip of the iceberg with the wii mote +, etc. what sony and ms are doing is that they're going into depths of that iceberg and Ninny has the audacity to say that as if they started the whole thing... but in truth they only brought this tech home first and they're not even going to the same limits as what sony and Ms are proposing with their respective projects. truthfully sony brought AR home first, but never really flaunted this shit or played it up, it's just there. think about eyedentify and even before then with simply the eyetoy games....
but if you see what AR is really about, and see some of the examples, (videos of this stuff you can find on Youtube) like the magic mirror or even the best example "future is wild" theme park by Discovery and some french company. you'll notice that Sony and MS are diving literally into AR. from what i noticed from these two conferences is that sony is taking the more traditional route. capture your image and have the fantasy react to reality 1 to 1. MS is taking that same concept but going the opposite end in that reality reacts within the fantasy realm 1 to 1 (Milo). but in the end, they're both going to reach the same point and this ladies and gents is 4d. imagine this shit...
i mean, imagine the future is wild theme park coming home. i mean that is the end goal.. it's fucking mind blowing what these companies are doing. i mean robots are already here. you have robot toys that aren't just going by remote control but scanning and reacting to their environments themselves... you have a real life METAL FUCKING GEAR from what peta is bringing to the table... but that's just technology in of itself... AR is just now getting refined for consumers and that's what Natal and the new eye toy is really about. it's not about a new way to play the game.. it's a new way to immerse yourself in a fantasy world.
i fucking CAN'T WAIT to see this shit. Like one of my biggest hopes for E3 this year was actually how these companies would tackle AR. and when you think about it.. nintendo isn't really doing shit... and they have the fucking nerve to say shit like this... i was literally aghast at what that comment that nintendo made, and the fanboys just eat that shit up as truth. think about the part of sony's tech demo when they literally went into FPS mode, that alone shits on the wiimote. I've said it before and i'll say it again,
camera + sensor beats just sensors any day of the second, minute, hour, day month year and so on and so forth.
how many fucking times does it need to be said? THE FUTURE IS NOW LADIES AND GENTS! get hype.

Valve software released the left 4 dead 2 teaser video at E3, and there are a lot of gamers mad about it. There is even a Steam Community called Boycott left 4 dead 2!!!
