Why do people think that suicide is wrong?

A working buddy told me, that in his religion, life is considered as a gift from god, and suicide is very ungrateful, that's why it's banned.
And, nevermind god, like Ghengis said it's also ungrateful to anyone that cares for you, and a harassment to anyone who has to deal with it if you do it in a messy way.
I'm not conventionally religious, but to me suicide is also waste in the most cases, because since you don't know what comes after life you could as well try to make the best out of it.
You also have to savor the good times even if they are few.

Other times, it's mainly people getting melodramatic over whatever trivial reason. Again, emotional support is needed. There are times you will feel like you can't live on. Don't think like that. Instead, seek out your dear ones for emotional support.

deal with it. there are tons of people with these "diseases that can't be cured." cancer, AIDS are just the big standing ones. some people are told that they can only live for a certain amount of time left. imagine that! having a ticking down timer put on your life that you are aware of. most of those people live their life to the fullest before that time ends. if they are still alive then it's great and if they do end up dying people respect them for not hiding in a corner for their final days. if you commit suicide just because you have a disease I think you're a pu$$y. and those people will probably agree.

It is selfish of the family (of the victim) to the person suffer just because they want them to live. The person is suffering and is supposed to suffer until the end?

I never said anything about the family making or wanting them to live. it's the person's decision. read my post more carefully please.
