What's wrong with the Xbox controller?

They say the ps3 controller is better because the analog sticks are next to eachother on the bottom of the controller; in a better place. The d-pad is better because the buttons are separate and on the top of the controller like the buttons; a great place.

The ps3 controller in my opinion is no better. The thumb sticks are so close together they hurt my hands after short sessions of use (of course stick positions are personal preference), they feel loose and their convex shape does nothing to help the thumb stay in place, it actively encourages it to slide off. The triggers are mushy and useless. So useless everyone puts the trigger functions on the top bumpers for ps3 shooters. The only thing I like about it is the d-pad. If I could get a pad that was a 360 pad with a ps3 d pad for under 50 dollars I would be very happy.

Well, that's your opinion...
I know. I never said it was anything but my opinion. Some people love either pad and I'm happy for them, but I'm harder to please I guess.

If this thing only has a reasonable price I will love it. But I'm wagering it'll be 70-80 dollars from the "storage case" and other extras (what do i need 2 additional faceplates for?). Hopefully it feels it has to compete with the onza and will share the same price point. What's so great about it? It has moddable, component parts. You can move the sticks around or swap out the cross pad for a ps3 style one to your heart's content.

Ok, so it's pretty much biased people's opinion...

Anyway, what's up with the trend of using arcade sticks for fighting games? It started like ten years ago and now everyone plays at tournaments with them...

Gee man I don't know when it started but if I had to guess why it would probably be a little thing called precision. Plus since most fighters hail from the arcades they're designed to be played with an arcade style controller. So if you can, why not? Like I said, neither controller makes me happy. I'd gladly buy a stick but 150 bucks seems like too much to spend on a peripheral that I'd only use for fighters. I just can't do it in good conscience personally. Some people can though and some couldn't care less at dropping 300 bucks on a good stick, laughing all the way home in their luxury sports mobiles. Maybe I should start a "buy John a stick!" kick starter page. I might raise all of four dollars.

Ps3 is the controller I grew up with, but I can't pull off imcf(Yoshi's 2a:B) as much. Funny thing is, the 360 d-pad allows me to. Other than that, I think I'm used to the 360 d-pad. Just a little bit.
