His down air dash is insanely quick so I would abuse that with his j.L or just spam his javelin along with an assist to frustrate them enough to make them come to you. Though I would suggest using his down air dash since you have a decent amount of options to choose from when you abuse it.

As for Wesker, most of his mixups come from his teleports, so just run away and he won't be able to close in to mix you up. Best he'll be able to do is shoot at you, which is lulzy considering how much Rider outclasses him there. 3/4 of a screen away is Rider's ideal range.

Pretty surprised you don't have a better scene, considering you're from Cali. NorCal or SoCal? If NorCal, I'd hit up SRK and see when everyone's playing at Starbase. Players usually in attendance there are guys like Dacidbro, Chrisis, KBeast, Filipino Champ, Haunts, etc. Not too sure on SoCal though.

I'm in SoCal and my car is none existent for the time being, I have made friends with one of the guys who plays locally and he wants to start going to Wednesday night fights. If he decides to go often then I will be hitching a ride with him and getting a chance to test out my scrubby tactics on people.

And being reliant on assists doesn't equal that you're low(er) tier in this game -- not the way Marvel is set up at least. If you start him on point, you're meant to have assists. If he's anchor, he has derp factor that he can use (and use damn well). In both scenarios, you can expect he'll get in.

The only top tier character in Vanilla, arguably in Ultimate that doesn't want assists to be effective is Dark Phoenix.

Yeah, I hear a lot about how derpy Dark Wesker is, but I play two pretty solid Weskers, and XF3 Vergil beats Dark Wesker almost every time, especially XF3 Devil Trigger Vergil. Viper, Dante, Vergil, and Strider all have a multitude of tools that are much better than what Wesker has. Wesker's greatest assets are his reset options, his teleports, and his normals. Outside of that, he doesn't really have much to work with, and as I said, his mixups are very easily telegraphed. If you want the definition of unblockable, try XF3 Strider with Ouroboros. Hell, XF3 Strider alone is impossible to escape, as are XF3 Dark Phoenix and XF3 Vergil. Top 10 right now, my opinion? Viper, Dante, Vergil, Strider, Dark Phoenix, Zero, Dorm, Doom, Spencer, and Magneto. Wesker's not top 10 because he sucks or anything, there's just other characters better than him. UMvC3 is cool like that.
