Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

Wow i just realize Dr. Strange has a very epic theme song, like "Im the final boss" quality theme song, its more awesome then that giant bright color weirdo.

Choir makes everything more epic, even if it sounds like something from Fruityloops.

Metallix picked up her copy of this game last night. I so want to try Dr. Strange and Rocket Raccoon.
Are there going to some more DLC's or this game is only going to have 48 characters? I hope this game is going to be balanced from what I've been hearing from some players I know who were talking to me about it. Honestly I was not happy and impressed with MvC3, to me it seemed more it was catered to hardcore tourney players than besides casual players like me.

Yeah its I'm not going to boast or anything since I do a lot of online play what with the my local scene only consisting of like 2 decent players. I play an aggressive ghost so teleports don't give me problems since I always have Doom shooting misseles and I always jump at people spamming j.S or if I think they are going to jump I just go for a j.H and keep them in the corner long enough for the assist to hit.

The main thing that gets me with Wesker is (once again) the fact that I'm forced to play online so his mix-ups are harder to react to. I was really saddened when I found people who played offline, only to find out they don't play any of the more common characters. I have been able to get some anti-Captain America practice in though and he is looking better this time around.

Guess my main problem is that I don't have a large enough offline scene to really see what people can do.
Yeah, I remember you saying that you were an aggressive Rider, which kind of threw me for a loop. I'm surprised you haven't been killed for that yet. I love Riders that rush down, because like I said earlier in the thread, they're coming to me, and they need to learn to "GET BACK!" (pun intended).

As for Wesker, most of his mixups come from his teleports, so just run away and he won't be able to close in to mix you up. Best he'll be able to do is shoot at you, which is lulzy considering how much Rider outclasses him there. 3/4 of a screen away is Rider's ideal range.

Pretty surprised you don't have a better scene, considering you're from Cali. NorCal or SoCal? If NorCal, I'd hit up SRK and see when everyone's playing at Starbase. Players usually in attendance there are guys like Dacidbro, Chrisis, KBeast, Filipino Champ, Haunts, etc. Not too sure on SoCal though.
Datne + Vajra is best friends forever.
Damn right. /brofist

Who are you again?

No one plays Strider on point or 2nd, that's why. Except like, me, but I don't play online. I was playing my friend's Ghost Rider the other day, and Dante + Strider Vajra eats him up. He couldn't do anything without getting smacked or locked down by the assist. Sometimes I'd have Dante teleport after the assist came out, and then just do 3HHH~S into a free combo. Could get more on anticipation, but the hitstun timer on Hammer and j.S are weird as hell in this game.

Wesker isn't that good, btw. Not top 5, and some people on SRK are saying he's not even top 10. He's just easy mode. All of his mixups can be telegraphed, and he's really reliant on assists. You're a pretty weird Rider player if you don't have trouble against any teleporters except Wesker, haha.

Not seeing anything that is convincing me otherwise that he's not top 10. You can maybe argue that he's not top 5, but Dark Wesker (shades off + level 3 X-factor) is really too damn close to being unblockable to not crack that list somewhere.

And being reliant on assists doesn't equal that you're low(er) tier in this game -- not the way Marvel is set up at least. If you start him on point, you're meant to have assists. If he's anchor, he has derp factor that he can use (and use damn well). In both scenarios, you can expect he'll get in.

The only top tier character in Vanilla, arguably in Ultimate that doesn't want assists to be effective is Dark Phoenix.
