I come from the D.O.A community, DOAWorld.com to be exact, and I wanted to seek information from other communities on what they think about this game (DEAD OR ALIVE) casually, as well as competitively. Of course I am a Soul Calibur player as well (Yun-Seong+Setsuka to the fullest), so I do come here to help improve my Soul Calibur gameplay. Back on point; Over a period of years I have seen people bash and, think of DOA as a joke fighter, I hear " it can't be played competitively", "the community is corrupt", and " It's just a anime game for guys who like bouncing tits."

I can tell people that the depth of the game goes further than what they see with their eyes as well as help break it down to them, but I can't force them to sit down and, play it. I do understand that in the past people from the DOA communities have had rivalries within the community itself, the current DOA games have had problems (large counter frame window, or it's seems mostly like a guess and win type game), the past communities have made the game seem corrupt (that you can see in Tom Brady's video blog on youtube). However there are still many people from other communities who'd like DOA to become part of the competitive scene again.

I simply ask for you opinions on the game and, if you could improve it what would you do?
 
you came to a terrible place. DoA is flamed here for credible reasons.

I like the game but not so much as a I feel like beating the shit out of someone and more along the lines of I am tired and want to goof around.

Doas hit boxes were way off. The execution for everything was way too easy, and the counter windows are insane.

Fix all of that, add in more moves for each character mixup wise, and stop the counter spam when the other character is knocking your front teeth in.
 
I don't care either way about the game itself but I have heard some shady stuff about some of the tourney organizers.
 
I use to play doa4 everyday before sc4 came out. personally, it was my first game I ever play(it was doa2 back then). I just play the game for fun. I dont like the games systems very much cuz it rely to much on the overpower counter system and throw(since throws are no escapable). and the online is just terrible! the only thing dat i love about the game is the graphics and the fast reaction systems. I dont play the game beacuse of the tits but for the cutes characters(males included) :P
