The best games you've never heard of.

A thread for the discussion of games you love that missed the mainstream and deserve a look-in by other people! A place to promote those games you adore that nobody thinks exists.

I'll get the ball rolling by talking about Radiant Historia, because that is one of the best games I've ever played.
A DS RPG, the battle system is tactical, engaging and unique, being designed around building combos and such by moving your opponents around. It manages to capture action and quick-thinking whilst remaining turn based.

The writing is also some of the best I've ever seen, with some of the best characters to star in an RPG ever. For those who hate overly drawn out character development plots and such, you'll certainly love Radiant Historia, which strikes the balance between character developing, telling the main story, and letting you get on with, though often the cut-scenes can be a little lengthy.
Which isn't so bad because you can skip them.

The music is fantastic, and whilst it can sometimes get a tiny bit repetitive, it's so good that you just don't mind.

Pros:
+ Brilliant story, of which I'll reveal not even the tiniest spoiler.
+ Unique story-telling mechanics.
+ Unique and engaging battle mechanics.
+ Interesting characters that aren't stereotypes.
+ The soundtrack is simply inspiring.
+ It'll last you a LONG time, even without the side quests.
+ Relatively challenging without being frustratingly broken.

Cons:
- Cut-scenes can often be lengthy, and at times the game can get quite text-heavy.
- Battles are fun, but can sometimes last a long time.

Sounds good.

Nier:
+amazing story
+amazing voice acting
+amazing soundtrack
+fairly deep, highly fluid hack and slash combat(you can even Guard Impact :D)
+tons to do
+Ending D...
+localization gave us a middle-aged protagonist played by Jamieson "Algol" Price
-enough grinding to make you hate Japan forever
-enough item farming to make you hate Japan forever
-the plot twists are...unpleasant
-it ain't pretty(fairly low polygon count)
-lots of things you can permanently miss in your first save
-Ending D...
-localization gave us a middle-aged protagonist played by Jamieson "Algol" Price

Just Cause 2:
+you have total freedom across an entire island nation
+you can blowup just about anything
+the voice acting is so bad it's funny
+it looks surprisingly good
+the combat is surprisingly good
-AI is horrible
-the voice acting is so bad it's funny
-the music is lacking

Serious Sam:
+twitch shooting
+no plot
+surprisingly decent soundtrack (nothing stellar by any means; it just works)
-twitch shooting
-no plot
-holy fuck where do these aliens keep coming from?

Clive Barker's Jericho:
+cheap as hell(if you can find a copy)
+has many unique gameplay elements(what drew me into it)
+another surprisingly good soundtrack
-bad friendly AI(by all means, melee the exploding jerks!)
-genuinely bad level design
-purposefully frustrating gameplay decisions(exploding jerks in enclosed spaces? sure thing!)
-little replay value

-Black and Jones are borderline OP; Black has tools for every situation possible, Jones can possess most enemies

Resonance of Fate. One of the best underrated, unknown games I've played.

+ Fast pace
+ Unique play style
+ Creates a great atmosphere
+ Cheap
+ Great soundtrack
+ Great voice acting, battle lines are badass
+/- Difficult
- Not much story to it
