Street Fighter 4!

you know ivy-person... 80% of the combos in training will never make it into your actual game? They are more of for show. Anyone is going to take a 4 hit combo that does 40% health over a 18 hit combo that does 39% health but has akward mess-up-able inputs.

And you have a backwards way of saying sorry. Usually it starts with admitting fault?? lol. Don't jump at ppl. Especially when talking on a forum. I mean hell... in person it might just come out (still bad..means you are undisciplined and weak-minded) but you are writing what you are saying and therefore must know that you shouldn't be jumpin' like no evil stepmutha bitch (reference to the original grim tale...lol).

Also, generally speaking, KDZaster didn't say anything mean or hurtful towards you anyway. He just said "here is a hint of how to do it..your welcome..but you are gonna feel really stupid about how easy it was afterwards..el o el" which in my book was harmless and humored as opposed to sayin something like "dumfuk, why are you so dumb??" ...lol.

But back to sf4... The long chains are generally not what sf4 has EVER been about. Look at a vid of "high lvl" players. See how many 10 hit combos (without counting ultras of course) you see. Answer?? none. Its because about hald the damn combos are useless compared to something else. Another huge portion are corner specific (and if its corner specific you only really need one combo for that situation per a cross).

Honestly, instead of feeling too high-strung on the combos, work on the more important parts of your game to get better: character specific special/ultra/super inputs (make sure you can get them when you need them), spacing, focus parry, focus cancles, and just general defense as well as character specific defense. If you can't play a lick of defense then you are gonna get your ass handed to you no matter how many 50% combos you can get to work in training.
ps... from what I've seen most of the big combos take up a while super meter. 1% extra damage in a combo via an EX move is not worth its use compared to the stand alone buffer of an EX compared to a normal move.

Anyway, I'm saying go enjoy the game... don't worry about the challenge mode right now maybe.

lol, physical threats. I love when you call someone on their comments in r/l when they didn't know you were gonna be where they were, and the look they get when they shrink away and pussyfoot around like they were joking when you are all up in their shit.

Lucky you don't play marvel, or there might me a shiv with your name on it already. *da dum dum chhhh!*

But alas, FG'ers in general are far to chill in person. They often are the exact opposite of what you think they'd be like, and usually good natured and friendly.

I am not chill.
I will say the line again to your face.
Then I will laugh. At you.

If you want the game to be easier, n00b, pick Blanka (Who doesn't need combos to be top tier), Boxer (who's combos are just too easy), or Rufus (Comboing into his ultra is a cakewalk). All of these characters are S-tier.

IvyFanBoy, just shut up already and learn how to take advice without QQing.
There's good advice in these comments I'm making.

Yea Phil, you are one of the few who's actually an asshole in r/l, grats... 9_9

No need to wear it like a badge of honor. You know Ivyfanboy probably won't even go to Evo anyways.

Isn't that your score? I figured I was the one drawing Z's etc while I was losing at least.

Yeah, I thought about it being mine. But in the arcades the whole score thing is tallied from the winner, just like in SF3.

Despite playing SF since SF2 (and its later incarnations, Champ, Super, ST) I really don't know much about SF combo theory. But usually, you don't need a whole set of combos to win. In most cases, proper spacing, timing, etc. work out instead. SF isn't like Soul Calibur in that you're on a disadvantage if something is blocked. If you're like me, you try to punish a blocked jump kick, only to eat a sweep instead.

Just be patient, SF4 seems to encourage turtling and rewards patience.
