Skyrim

Its a pretty good the Dragonborn DLC and you get to go back to Soltheim (I know I spelled it wrong .___.) Its great IMO and the new Shouts are awesome! and you can use the Sacred Stones for special abilities (cept you can use them once and you have to recharge the ability at the stone) just passed it myself and its great (mmm tentacly lovely powers yess ^__^)

I'm on the ps3, and sadly, I don't care about DLC.

Reason? The game is far too broken and grind-happy. Want to have the best character possible? Be prepared to spend hours grinding that alchemy, smithing, and enchanting.

This isn't even the worst part. The worst part is the sheer and utter lack of balance. Why put points in magicka when you level up when you can just reduce the cost to 0%?.

Okay fine, you say. What about playing without grinding for hours on end? Well then your character will SUCK, period.

Why have a lockpicking tree at all? Why waste points in it when even master locks are not hard if you got enough picks.

Why waste points in pickpocket when you can make/drink a fortify pickpocket potion to ridiculous numbers so you can have 90% chances anyway? Or better yet, why pickpocket at all when you can just kill the guy and take his loot anyway? There are PLENTY of better ways to make money, and faster too.

Take destruction magic for example. Cold magic sucks, period. Nords are the most common NPC and they resist 50% of it. Trolls are immune to it, undead are immune to it (and there are TONS of undead in this game). Lightning is okay, but fire wins hands down with fireball's blast radius.

All master spells suck, except for the alteration one that reduces damage by 80%. You don't get the dual casting benefit, they take forever to cast, you cant move while casting it, and strickly on a DPS basis for destruction spells, fireball and incinerate kill MUCH faster.

All the perks which reduce the cost of spells by 50% are moot because you can reduce cost to 0 anyway.

2 handed weapons suck, like really suck. They only do a fraction more damage than 1 handed, the attack speed is SLOW, blocking isn't as good as a shield, AND you can't use a spell while using a 2 handed weapon.

dual wielding was a major letdown as well. I seem to attack faster with a single blade in one hand than I do with 2 weapons.

Stealth characters are completely broken and braindead. I can sneak right up to people in broad daylight when their facing me and not be seen. X30 sneak damage with a dagger is beyond ridiculous (perk plus glove enchantment such as dark brotherhood gloves).

Why didn't they just incorporate lockpicking, pickpocket, and sneak into one perk tree, labeled "stealth"? To be that seems a lot more streamlined.

Hand to hand combat is a joke. I mean seriously, who uses that? And why no perk tree for unarmed? I really don't get that.

Dragon scale and dragon plate armor is worse than daedric/glass? WTF? That makes no sense whatsoever.

Illusion will never level up enough for just using it normally. You either have to train like mad, or spam (spamming is the reason I quit Oblivion). The enemies will level up faster than the perks can catch up, and you can't use illusion on undead/robots until it's level 100??

Don't get me wrong, illusion is good, but you have to spend tons of perk points to make it even worth it, and even then it's not nearly as useful or effective as destruction/conjuration. Why make a group of enemies attack each other in stealth when I can just shoot 4 or 5 fire balls and get the job done in half the time?

Alteration is utterly useless, until you get it to level 50 so you can have detect life, also the magic damage reduction perks are the only reason to level this up, really. Also, detect life costs too much mana, and then we end up going right back to reducing costs to 0%.

Mage armor sucks because not only do you not get as much armor class as light/heavy, you have to cast the spell every few minutes, while armor is permanent.

Same reason why conjure weapons is totally lame. You can't smith them, therefore the damage will pale in comparison to an actual weapon, not to mention it takes WAY longer to cast that spell than it does to just pull out a weapon. Seriously, who uses that crap?

Intense flames is stupid. Why would I want my enemies to run away when their almost dead? I want them to stay put, so I can KILL THEM. What crackpot came up with this shit?

Restoration magic=totally gay. There is virtually NOTHING restoration can do that alchemy doesn't do way better, alchemy ingredients are over-abundant anyways. Plus as a bonus, you still have a hand free. Skip this tree entirely.

What's the point in buying more than one house? Why would you want your gear scattered around anyway? The house in whiterun has 3 chests in it anyway, there's all the space you would ever need.

I could go on and on about how silly, unbalanced, poorly thought out, and flat out broken this game is. I bet most of you don't know that you can get your weapons in the trillions of damage without any cheats or mods whatsoever? Here's proof:

Read the notes section!

As far as balance and gameplay is concerned, I've been converted over to Fallout. I've been playing fallout 3 GOTY edition and it's fucking awesome! I hope to get New Vegas soon. Seriously, fallout is 10X better.

Edit: VATS is braindead, but if you don't use it very much they game can be a lot more fun/challenging.

I knew you could get your armor rating & dmg to high numbers, but do you also know your enemies stats are raised determining your stats on the gear? It doesn't matter any way; games still broken <~~~ First time I've ever used that word XD Ppl sure do suck at making video games nowadays. Games in the past were made better then this, now their just slowly falling down. W/e the fucks goin on, ppl should play their job smarter, because their leading into a world full of shit.

^Not all games suck nowadays. Elder Scrolls series, on the other hand, can't seem to make a game that ISN'T broken. In Oblivion it was the spell crafting that was broken. In Morrowind you could permanently raise all your attributes beyond 100 (unlike Oblivion, where raising something above 100 did not add any additional benefit, except acrobatics and athletics).

What I think needs to happen is that the Elder Scrolls series needs to steal the guys who did fallout for themselves. I mean shit, it's still Bethesda, and Fallout is clearly the superior game in every way except graphics.

Ask yourself something Death_Emperor (this is not trolling but 100% serious), how old are you? Nostalgia goggles can be hard to see through. Let me give you an example: I recently went back to sc2 just for shits and giggles, and now I think the game is crap. Sure, I loved it back in the day, but I was also 10 years younger then. I'm 29 years old now, and I'm pretty sure I was barely 20 when I first played sc2, and yes I was A LOT more immature back then.

"Games in the past were made better than this". This couldn't be further from the truth, my friend. Go back and revisit your favorite classic games with a fresh and unbiased perspective. Trust me, 10 year old games are not as fun as they were when we were younger.

I tried it with Doom, Quake, Final Fantasy Tactics (the only FF game I ever liked), older SC's, heck even Diablo 2 seems like a dumb game now (It's still way better than d3 though). None of these games were anywhere near as fun as I remember them being. Wanna know why? Cas' we didn't know any better, these were the best games for their times.

People change, old games don't.

I'm 19 (bout to be 20). Going back to an old game, damn how I would love too. I do have one, but I can't go to it anymore. Only because they took out the online in the original Xbox. I tried returning their too. I was unable too, I wish I could go back though. The game I wanted to try & go back too is called Phantasy Star Online. It was a badass game, its an MMORPG game on Xbox (Original). Back in the day, the Phantasy Star series had Battle Mode, Challenge Mode, & Story Mode. The items you find seemed limitless too, its like you may think you have it all, but you don't.

In the future, the Phantasy Star series got plain. Sure it may improved on graphics, areas, & missions. However, it didn't have a purpose anymore once you reached the highest level. Their wasn't a battle mode to go to, nor was their challenge mode you can do to challenge yourself. All it was is just missions only; they did have a side story mode, but that was it. & the battle mode for PSO was so competitive, damn it sure was hard & challenging & heart racing n.n You'd have to be quick, strong, & gear had to be really good, & the button layout was challenging, because you'd get 3 different attacks. One light one, one heavy one, & one special one. You'd have to use them skillfully in order to obtain victory, & if you keep making wrong decision moves, you'll be at a disadvantage.

The challenge mode was pretty tricky & exciting & really entertaining as well. The bosses, enemies, & loot was no joke too on the hardest difficult. Like I said, the battle is determined on your skill & teamwork. In the future of Phantasy Star, you don't even need teamwork, & the enemies & bosses weren't that tough. & the attacking system was overpowering. It didn't require skill.

Morrow Wind, I never played the game, but I hear you don't know where your going because their wasn't a check point to tell you where to go. I don't know about its competitive play, but I'm pretty sure you weren't as overpowered as you are in Skyrim. Oblivion, I only played a portion of it (Like 40% of the game completed). I also don't know about Oblivion compared to Skyrim in terms of betterness.

The comparison between the SC series. Now I'm just gonna say, I miss & loved SCIII better then all the other SC's because SCIII had some sort of challenge mode where you fight Night Terror or Collosus, it had CAS which was BADASS & more anime-ish styles, it had Chronicle of The Sword which was the best thing SC ever made in the entire series Imo, It had more weapon types for CAS & not just original character weapon styles only. The game was just insanely great, & I think its competitiveness hasn't changed much from SCV.

Sorry if I made this seem like it was from a biased perspective, but I couldn't revisit those games because most of my consoles are missing cords now. I'll heed what you said though, I'm not sure what it may be & its hard to judge because I'm unable to go back now.
