Red dead redemption

Do you have to play as that guy on the cover or is there different playable characters?
 
Anyone know how to kill a bear with one shot? I'm trying to get my sharpshooter challenges and I can't seem to get the one where you kill 3 bears with one shot each. (works with a shottie but the game didn't count it for some reason)

Also, are there forums for the game somewhere? I went to the Rockstar site and couldn't find anything.
 
Had the game since it's may 18th release and I'm loving every second of it.

I know what you mean. Try going to Tanner's Ranch in Tall Trees in multiplayer, they spawn a lot of them there. Gets pretty intense when a lot of them are just spawning and coming out of nowhere. Man these cougers are ninjas. xD

Try shooting them in the head with a strong weapon like the Buffalo Rifle, Henry Repeater or something similar. I always headshot them with a springfield and they usually go down with one shot.
