I can ignore the pointless debate about the merits of of exclusive PC vs exclusive console. However, there is too much misinformation that cannot be perpetuated.

"Average gaming PC with the latest specs costs around 1K if you build it yourself.
Don't quote yahoo answers like it's some bible as the absolute truth.
Again, what people are telling you is that you are paying a premium for a pre-assembled name-brand all-in-one PC. If you are able to build one your self, you can save significantly. Obviously computer peripherals you could get away with using an existing one.
My friend Chris is selling his Liquid Cooling hypertech PC with optimized RAM + Cooling systems + 64 bits Graphic's Card with the highest performance, and a whopping 32 Gigs of RAM... All for $2,400.
Don't name drop, and especially don't say it is your "friend" and expect anyone to be impressed or to have your comments validated. Describing your friend doesn't make you more knowledgeable of the subject. I'm happy for his price of $2,400, but you seem to have have no clue as to what would make it worth $2,400 (at least his asking price).
What is 64 bit graphics card ? 32 gig ram kits can be acquired for about $300 bucks, so thats $2,100 for the rest of the components. Again, I have no reason why i'm even trying to help you break it down, but that's like describing how awesome a car your friend is selling for $100,000 and then telling people that it has nice rims and cup holders without providing any other information.
Nice job looking like a fool Slade by showing a graphics card cost only $72 when the high end ones cost about $100-120.
Hate to break it to you, but $100 gpus are considered mid-mainstream at best. Reading slade's post, the only thing that is 72 bucks is the RAM, not the GPU and those are 2 different pieces of hardware. I am beginning to question whether you know anything about a PC.
And those aren't even the high-end Microtel models.
A "Microtel" PC is only as good as its components, and falling for brand name (rather than the actual pieces of hardware) is a good way for a fool and his money to be parted. Really, out of all the name brands to whore out, you choose Microtel. Their website shows their line of products ranging from kiosks to industrial appliances. I don't think that is a good choice even in the first place.
You can debate about how great the consoles are, I won't argue with you on that front. However, you appear to know next to nothing about the current PC market so you're using misinformation as your platform to slam PCs.
>7870 is a "second rate GPU"
7870 with its free games at $200, while a great deal, certainly can't be put in the top tier of GPUs available currently, especially with the 9000 series just around the corner.
