Ok, so I'm a fan of A&E's new show Parking Wars. This show allows me to see many different angles to parking laws, although I'm very sure they don't show when people get violent toward the officers. I've seen people there receive a ticket, then rip it up and throw it in the trash right there in front of the officer. I've also seen booters put the yellow boots on cars so that they can't move if they've got at least 3 outstanding tickets over 6 months old. I've seen an officer unable to leave one particular intersection for hours because there's a very famous deli on a bus route, and people just keep on parking in the bus parking spots because they want that sandwich. Then there's the clerks at city hall who collect the fines and genuinely try to help people, but aren't allowed to negotiate anything outside of the law.
If you want to comment on Parking Wars, go ahead. I love that show. What I really want to hear from this, though, is your thoughts on parking authorities. Listening to half the people on this show, you get the idea that people don't even want it to exist, and fail to see all the stuff that would happen if they were gone. So many people don't realize all the little things we take for granted, and if the parking authority was gone, I guarantee you the same people that didn't want it around would start calling for them to come back if it actually happened.
