i, for one, LOVE this patch.
to hell with all the character changes. we can adapt to them. i am more concerned with the game fundamentals. it baffled me that so many people were upset about QS4G (which nobody even utilized), but nobody seemed to care that you could backdash and either force a whiff or safely block 90% of the moves in the game when up close at disadvantage. that killed the game for me. stepping was soooooooooo risky but backdash was safe as hell. it was like stepG was present in its strongest form ever for backdash and the game was playing out like "tekken 2.5d" instead of 3d, but nobody cared. now, at least the risk for movement in any direction will be comparable and we don't have to play the "let's see who whiffs first and loses" game.
i understand how some people may have liked that aspect, as it made the spacing metagame play much more akin to tekken than previous SC games, but i absolutely hated it.
if this means that i can throw out hail mary iGDR on retreating turtles and actually have it hit once in a while, or that i can utilize my advantage after blocking without getting punished for doing so, then SC5 just got like 100X better in my book.
also, i can't wait to see what sort of connections i can make off of cervy BTb+k now. looks like those iBT just frames might not be completely worthless after all...........
