I don't understand what you guys are so "sceptical" about.
Disney wants to sell shit to preteen boys. They already have kids and preteen girls locked down.
Marvel is a successful business who sells a lot of shit to the exact market Disney doesn't sell a lot of shit to.
Disney buys Marvel.
Disney can now sell shit to those other markets and gets some extra publishing and licensing options as a bonus.
Why, in the name of all that is not retarded, would Disney go about changes Marvel in any significant way, except to maybe put the axe to some shit that just isn't selling.
Think about when they bought Pixar. Pixar was competing with them in the animated movie field and winning handily. They were also using the animation methods that Disney didn't have, ones that clearly worked and were probably more cost effective than a lot of the traditional animation Disney had relied on. So Disney could spend a lot of time and money trying to get their own 3D animators and writers, etc., or they could just buy Pixar.
Once they did, why the hell would they go about changing things? Pixar was monstrously successful before Disney bought them, and they're monstrously successful now. The only change is that Disney gets some money and Pixar gets to sell more toys.
This is a business decision. No Disney executive walked into a board meeting, threw his arms up, and said, "You know, my son likes Iron Man. And I fucking HATE Iron Man. Let's buy Marvel so I can put some mouse ears on that gay suit he wears. That'll teach him not to clean his fucking room."
