Less and Less Time for Video Games...

Yeah! I'm the same way with anime too! I used to be into it years ago and could watch a whole season or two (though the last two of those were anime titles I really liked - namely Melancholy of Suzumiya Hurahi and School Rumble). I had started to watch Shigofumi and Clannad when some fansubs were made, but never finished either. Still, I didn't mention anime because it always seemed like my brother would find one he'd think I would like and then, if I liked it, we would all watch it together.
 
I'd say this phenomenon is pretty common. My PS3 broke 3 months ago, yet I really don't have any inclination to go get a new one. I only own three games anyway: SC4, T6, and MW2. I can't remember the last time I rented a game. What it comes down to is that games ARE a waste of time, coupled with the fact that the majority of games today are not innovative or original enough to stimulate the ever-diminishing imagination of a transitioning adult. Those that are get buried under the rapidly accumulating mountain of uninspired crap, or become a casualty of the inner struggle with the prejudicial question "I'm an adult now, is this really worth my time?".

I don't really know if I can answer that...
 
I know the feeling on this one. I only own 4 Xbox games, SSF4, SC4, MW2, and FF XIII. I haven't picked up XIII in about 2 months and I swap between the other three. I don't even bother buying new games anymore. Being 30 with a fiancé can really kill your gaming time and spirit. Especially when the girl is a non gamer (I completely feel your pain GeeJay!!).

My advice is to pick a game that is completely out of the norm for you and see if you like it. Spice it up, mix it around. I hated FPS games until I picked up MW2, Halo bored me to tears but MW2 is rather fun online, and quick so it doesn't take to much time if you don't want it to.
 
The period of time I lost interest in video games was during the middle of my high school years. Way before I got into fighting games I was into first person shooters and many of Nintendo's first party games.

Problem there are so many FPS games out there that felt very repetitive I became bored and retired from gaming for the time being. Until I start going into a new genre I started to feel the hype again.

Fighting games is really a new genre to me and I have yet many other genres to explore.
 
I can totally relate! Back in highschool, I used to play and beat the RPG's in a reasonable amount of time. Now I'm 22 and and I have like 12 RPG's Sitting in queue waiting to be played
