Less and Less Time for Video Games...

I can definitely relate...

work along with other responsibilities of life are taking more time.. but this is exactly why i enjoy these short ass games that take 5-6 hours to beat. because of the time i actually put into these games, these 5 - 6 hours turn into weeks.. RPG's can take months to beat and by then i completely forgot the story, what its about, all of that...

same with anime.. most of that stuff is run of the mill. cliche and it's formulaic.. i try to keep my ears to the ground but tv dramas get my attention more these days. especially since most of the tv dramas don't involve school girls and happens at a random high school..

but yeah.. i still have a huge game library but as soon as i finish a game, it's on to the next one. It's why i love this new philosophy on short ass games... long is overrated. short is the new long. especially with my ADD brain.

I tried that line once. She didn't buy it.

You could just be changing your priorities or interests. If you don't want to play games anymore it's not the end of the world. I stopped playing games a while back and I was reading instead. Then I started catching up on classic films like The seventh seal and such. Now I just feel like I'm wasting time at everything. (That could always be the seventh seal's fault I dunno lol) Might be your id or hierarchy of needs telling you you have more important things to do.

And there's another problem. To reiterate what madnis said in my own terms 85% of everything made is crap. Music, TV, movies, games. It's all the same ratio. Perhaps crap is too strong a word but there's a lot of filler out there that just doesn't excel or try something new. Eventually you reach your saturation point. If something doesn't speak to your soul no amount of trying will make it so. It might just be there's nothing out right now that appeals to you. I went back and played mass effect 2, had a fine time. Got all the achievements. Find myself with nothing to do again.

I don't know what's right for anybody. In the end you have to decide that for yourself.
