A few quick first impressions... game's a lot more linear than your typical sandbox-game... really love the film noir vibe... Holy shit, a 3-disc game?!? Takes me back to the PS1 days... more to follow.

I love the look of the game, but I wish the city was more interactive. I can't switch the radio stations in the car? I can't buy a hot dog? This won't be the game a lot of people were expecting I'm sure, but I personally like seeing rockstar focus so much on their narrative. This strikes me more as an RPG and less as a sandbox. I'm reminded of a point and click adventure game.
You're kidding right? Maybe not as much as today, but there was plenty of variety, it's not like Tex Ritter and Count Basie were doing the same type of music. The era saw an explosion of new styles including Rock, Smooth Jazz and Bebop. And don't forget there was a lot more on the radio than music, since there was no television. They had talk stations at the time with as much political bias as today (Charles Coughlin for instance), news programs, sports, dramas, comedies and variety shows. This was the era of "war of the worlds" and "The Shadow". Rockstar kinda missed the boat on the immersion train with that one. I guess though as long as the game runs, they didn't wanna rack up their licensing costs.I can understand the music thing it is the 40s there wasn't much variety compared too the 2000s.
