L.A. Noire

Allyourbase

[09] Warrior
Anyone else excited for this game? 5/17/11 can't come soon enough. I'm digging the whole 1940s "film noir" vibe.

Only things I'm concerned about: 1) None of the early trailers have suggested any kind of overarching storyline, and 2) How exactly does the sandbox gameplay factor into all of this?

I'm looking forward to it but the idea of all the cases being self-contained episodes kinda worries me. What's more I wonder how much freedom I'll have to explore the city and if I'll need a notepad to play this?

I'm sure the set up will be like GTA, having the main story missions episode like and everything sand box. The game looks amazing and when I first saw it I wanted it.

It's nice to play as a cop in a Rockstar game. Since before they've mostly been depicted as crooked macho stereotype bad guys or as the evil arm of the oppressive government. I thought it was funny to see the difference between Grand Theft Auto 3's cops and Grand Theft Auto 4's as an asides.

If the cases were tied to one main storyline, like with the Mob or such, this could be epic. Just once, I would like Rockstar to make the game fully open-world from the get-go (like the GTAIV spinoffs), instead of some half-baked reason why parts of the game world aren't accessible immediately. "Sorry, you can't go there because the bridge is out, lol."
