I am new to fighting games, and have a question about SCV

I'm glad to hear that you're picking up Soul Calibur now and I agree with you on a lot of your points! Unfortunately, I don't think you'll be able to find many videos of top level aeon play on youtube, but hopefully someone can give you names of aeon players who play relatively well. Out of curiosity, may I ask you if you play Starcraft 2 and if you got into SCV because of MLG? I don't know of you swedes watch MLG, but I definitely watch Dreamhack. =)

I tried to play StarCraft II for a year and a half. I gave it a good chance, I won some small online cups and got in to grand master league (and top 200 before it was called GM league). I took some games off pros, korean and foreigner. But eventually it became clear that no matter how much I tried to like the game, it could never be as good as StarCraft 1, so I quit. As for MLG, I used to watch it when I played the game, but only the SC2 part of it.

I got in to fighting games because of my girlfriend, who was one of the best guilty gear players in USA. She quit because she didn't like the community, how it harassed her at tournaments and on forums and so on.

Edit: I'm not accusing you of being the same community. It wasn't everyone from every game. I'm not going to go in to details about who it was since it's not relevant and probably not interesting to you, but just know that it wasn't any of you.

Ah I see, I found you on youtube! A lot of SC2 metagame has changed since those days and it might be worth the effort to look back into it. And plus, there are a lot of changes coming in HoTS, including a new version of the defiler. =)

I don't care about the metagame. I don't like the design of the races or the units, and it's not like I quit when Terran was OP. I played until quite recently.

I will definitely be watching MLG's Soul Calibur 5 tournament. Thank you for the schedule.
