MK9 Komplete didn't, but it was a final release of 9 with all the DLC on-disc. If you got all the patches with 9 (which you would if you went online), you could still play with any other player.

SSF4:AE did, I suppose, but it also acted as a massive balance patch before ver. 2012.

SSFIV:AE did not make SSFIV useless since you could just upgrade SSFIV to AE for $14 instead of buying a new disc.
 
Most likely it'll be $40 when it releases judging how pass KT remakes/ sub-games (Dynasty Warriors 7 Xtreme Legends and Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge) were that price. That is if money isn't a problem.

Yeah it will most likely be $40 USD on launch day. I wish Team Ninja would stop releasing 2 games for the same title, where I will always buy new games, and I love there being more fighting games out there, it just seems like nobody ever knows about the "second" game getting released, because they get it confused with the one that came out a few months ago... =P

Sort of like how I didn't even know Razor's Edge was coming out until a week prior. And I was talking to one of my friends a couple days ago, and he didn't even know there were two Marvel Vs Capcom 3 games...
