Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate

That Momiji teaser was pretty epic, I completely forgot who won the DOA5 finals just a minute earlier and couldn't focus on the rest of the SC5 tourney :P

Personally I think she'll play like a female Hayabusa, wouldn't be surprised if they even classified her as a grappler with i4 grab.

That would make the most sense since she trained within Hayabusa's clan and thus uses the same fighting style. Though I get a slight "Kasumi" vibe out of her for some reason.

After a lot of play and a bit more analyzing. I'm thinking Brad is either top-tier or upper mid. I also feel like I should move Kokoro down to a solid mid. I feel like her lack of low and mid crushes, low attacks, and tracking keep her from being too high the list. Still hits like a truck and crushes turtles with impunity, but feels a bit lacking in many ways. Especially as I play more of the characters.

Also I feel that Lei-Fang is better than Helena in the top tier bracket. I know people feel Helena is pretty ridiculous, but I think Lei-Fang edges out based on more conditional tools and options over Helena.

Also, I feel that, if they update the balance of the game, Jann Lee's 4PPP needs either a damage reduction, needs to be holdable mid-string or a non-natural combo. Move feels too good otherwise.

Brad can be very crafty if his evasiveness, rhythm and spacing is on point. He's very good at getting into situations where it's tricky for the opponent to counter him. However, I really doubt that he's anything beyond mid-tier. Someone like Ayane can still ruin his day.

Comparing LeiFang and Helena is difficult because they have essentially nothing in common. Helena is based around continuous stun-pressure and intelligent usage of Bokuho, whereas LeiFang is based around safe poking to pressure the opponent to try and attack her so that she can dominate with her defensive options and offensive holds. Both characters are great at their respective roles. Both can also give Ayane an unwanted headache (>.<)!

4PPP is not the only thing of Jann Lee's that could use a "reduction". Methinks a certain offensive hold of his is much more irritating.

Main deal with Brad is that his lay-down stance K8 is a high and mid crush. Literally nothing beats it. Even if you use mids that can actually hit Brad in lay-down stance, K will still beat it. The only way for Brad to really lose that threat is if he transitions at a disadvantage, or he guesses wrong on what the opponent will do. It's really up to him. No high or mid is going to beat K or K8.

Hand-stand is also really strong. All the major transitions are safe. Handstand K is -1 on block. Handstand P is a high crush. Up close, its barely even punishable because of how fast Handstand K is.

This pretty much highlights why Brad can be so strong. He's got so many crushes (and some fine frame advantage setups) that players will have difficulty with. If Brad were faster, he'd dominate everyone through a combination of both speed and crushes. As is, his crushes more than make up for his lack of speed.

There's also Brad's ability to hit like a truck. Two rather solid offensive holds. And his many launchers.

He's also got the Siegfried factor. Terrible on paper, but excellent in live play.

Maybe you saw this model swap hack?

Or is it that they're both so perfect in every way? lol

RE: Brad
This is a funny character, if you look at various people's lists from both US and Japan you'll see sometimes he's near the bottom and sometimes near the top but usually not in the middle. It's been a while since I played DOA5 though so I won't comment too much but of all the Brad players I've faced there was only one that stood out to me. Generally Brad wasn't a threat if I applied pressure and looked out for lows.
