well i thought obama knocked it out with his speech. i am very glad he seized the opportunity to emphasize that we are not at war with muslims, as that still seems to be the public sentiment in the USA. hopefully now it will be harder for them to justify our occupation in the middle east to the american public.

anyway... the FUNNIEST shit just happened to me. i decided that in light of this news, i would go out and have a few beers at my local bar with all the local rednecks to celebrate. well, on the way i passed about 10 cops and a DWI checkpoint getting set up, so i decided that instead i would just buy a bottle at the giant station and come back home to celebrate by myself.

i got into the giant and mentioned to the two cashiers that there were police everywhere because of the news. one of them asked me, "what news?"

i told them, "oh man, you guys don't have tv? they killed obama. people are going crazy in washington and there are police all over. it is on like every single tv station."

they were shocked. one of them goes, "wooooooow. i got a brother in iraq. i wonder what this means for him," and then he left to look for a tv to hook up. the other one, as he rang up my smokes and whiskey, said, "i don't give a fuck. i really liked him." moderately disgusted and confused by their reactions, i took my stuff and left.

it wasn't until i was driving away that i realized the mistake i had made.
