However, I'm wondering who would be good partners for Gyarados with it's mega stone? Magnezone? Jolteon?

depends on what you plan on doing with gyarados. i don't have too much experience with him since mega gyarados doesn't work with my double/triple battle teams since that mold breaker + earthquake = dead gengar. how ever i think he's a pretty good lead pokemon since you can dragon dance and also change your type. you just gotta be careful when you mega evolve because of the different weaknesses water/dark has compared to water/flying. i even had a friend high-jump kick it with blaziken because he thought i was gonna mega it lol.

tl;dr: i have no idea how to use mega gyarados.

Blaziken especially with that Speed Boost is too good. I literally can switch him in on something harmless, Swords Dance, Protect to put him at +2, and wreck everything with High Jump Kick or Flare Blitz until you die.

Anyways should I go against one, I hope he switches. Because going mega as Gyarados is like throwing Outrage too early. Otherwise I guess I'll Waterfall or Dragon Dance just to see what happens.

All I can think of is Jolteon because Gyara hates Electric, but now I wonder about what the other teammates should be? Looks to @Reptile and anyone else for Gyara help.

Edit: reading smogon stuff to cookie cut my own Mega Gyarados.

they're new and they're here eat dragons for breakfast! they're super effective against fighting, dark, and dragon but weak to steel and poison. they're not very effective to fire, but fire doesn't beat fairy. oh and fairies are immune to dragon.....immune!

Sounds like my Metagross would make short work of that.
