Pretty much. It'd be like fighting PyrO, but all your attacks just miss for no actual reason.
Kinda like playing Sieg.
 
I remember my first shiny was a Poocheyena in ruby version, it was level 5 while everyone else in my party was level 50 but i didnt care because i was like "HOLY SHIT THIS POOCHEYENA IS DIFFERENT COLOR WTF?!?!? SO CATCHING THIS THING"
