Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate

Ya it's not hard to do, just hard to LAND. They get hit by raw 236P+K they're dumb. Otherwise the actual doing it part is no harder than Setsuka B+K string in SC4

Since you seem to have a good foundation then, how do I play Akira? Mostly what I've been doing is using 346P, 4PP+K and 2P. I'm having trouble making this guy work.

I can't really play unless it's online... I might have to drop this one until further notice.

DrDogg himself has said that the netcode is not up to par (funny that he is in the same situation as me...)
I might put it off until the next patch drops. I guess SCV spoiled me.
... well, no, not spoiled. This should be a standard...

You know, originally I believed the latency of the game to be just fine. Beyond the notable response time inherent with the game offline. But I have noticed that blocking at the last minute and even trying to do proper counter holds are difficult when playing online, even if I don't really perceive the lag. After putting a few hours offline with Akira in Survival and Arcade and then going straight into online play (on excellent connections, as far as the game is concerned) I definitely notice that the game feels sluggish and more difficult to react to certain things.

So yeah, I guess there is lag in the game, even on good 4/5 bar connections. Which is a shame, even if I don't discern, I can definitely feel like certain elements of game aren't responding when I want them to (countering the last hits of long strikes, last-second block, etc). Granted, I can still reactively block lows compared to SC4, so the netcode isn't that bad. But it certainly would help if they could make it better.

Stop playing against opponents with piss poor connections.

Which is funny considering that the consensus from DOA vets is that the game plays quite differently from DOA4 due to:
1. Nerfed holds and stun. Meaning you can't rely on holds to get you wins now.
2. New sidesteps which greatly changes the neutral game.

It is a LITTLE different but not a lot. The nerfs on holds and stuns doesn't change the fact that you are required to try and hold out of situations, so they do it anyway. Trying to shake out of them doesn't work for a lot of new combos meaning you're still gonna try and hold. The entire game is trying to hold out of stuns and for the attacker to bait holds for longer combos. Bunch of jokes.
First off the fact they're FINALLY ADDING A 3D ELEMENT TO A 3D GAME is a joke in itself. Know what other 3D games had it? NARUTO GAMES, BLOODY ROAR, TOSHINDEN. Those games are jokes, well not all BR's are jokes, but still go Tecmo?
And it changes the game to something GOOD i agree, but like T6 and above so many linear moves track so well that it makes stepping far less useful than you'd think.

Oh please asking someone, who doesn't take either VF or DoA seriously, how to use a VF character in DoA isn't good for you. How should i know how effectively use him?

And yes online for this game is bad, not the WORST but not good enough to be viable. And it's almost always because of defense. When blocking and/or reacting that's when the latency truely shows itself. Even worse for 3d games where you need to actually react to different throws over just knowing throw situations like in 2D games.
Defense is always what kills you online.

And I should listen to "Animefreak6969" over say, anyone else in the competitive DOA community who says otherwise why?
