The best games you've never heard of.

Sounds good.

Nier:
+amazing story
+amazing voice acting
+amazing soundtrack
+fairly deep, highly fluid hack and slash combat(you can even Guard Impact :D)
+tons to do
+Ending D...
+localization gave us a middle-aged protagonist played by Jamieson "Algol" Price
-enough grinding to make you hate Japan forever
-enough item farming to make you hate Japan forever
-the plot twists are...unpleasant
-it ain't pretty(fairly low polygon count)
-lots of things you can permanently miss in your first save
-Ending D...
-localization gave us a middle-aged protagonist played by Jamieson "Algol" Price

the most under-rated, unheard of game in the history of man.

Valkyria Chronicles:

Only managed to catch a little bit of this at a friend's, but thoroughly enjoyed every single second. Such a good game. Especially the soul-crushing moment when he had to give up his favourite soldier who died bravely, because the mission was too long and hard for him to retry.

In celebration of the possible sequel to it, did anyone catch The World Ends With You when it came out? One of, if not THE best S.E game in recent years/of all time.

Xenoblade (Wii) (In the middle of completing):
+ Amazing scenery (like an mmorpg)
+ Distinctive characters that are all very likeable
+ Fantastic soundtrack
+ Unique and very epic storyline - lots of "OMG I didn't expect that to happen AT ALL!!!"
+ Very good voice actors (Japanese)
+ Lots of sidequests and stuff to do in between storyline quests; never thinking that there is nothing to do
+ Fun and tactical gameplay
+ Able to change time of the day
+ Sky and weather changes occasionally (e.g. thunderstorm, shooting stars, heatwave) - makes different unique monsters pop up depending on the weather
- Graphics aren't the best
- Some rare collectables are very hard to find

^That game is from Monolith...possible one of the best studios for RPGs, and for me the best and only reason to own a Wii
