todays music sucks

Did they ever offer any proof that they actually sped stuff up? I didn't know about them back when it happened so I don't know too much about it, but from what I've read it was just a rumor that happened because of shitty technical work that effed the sound up during one of their tours and on the next tour supposedly they had the stuff working and they were playing the stuff just fine.
well, you know when you normally go to concerts and bands usually play either faster or at the same speed as the recorded studio album. Dragon force didn't do that, at least not for through the fire and flames, and I heard one of them fessed up and told someone that they do.

the term "good music" is probably the most subjective term in the world... Is a bad song the same 4 chord progression in common time we hear on the radio EVERY. FREAKING. DAY? Or is it the predictable subject matter to a typical beat that individuals feel they need to share through the blasted speakers of their cell phones? It can be an auto tuned single from a 13 year old, or a technical master piece in between 300 "break downs" from guys who have a Bachelor's in music theory.

But, from a practical stand point, i can't stand listening to the radio; almost as much as i utterly shun popular opinion. i don my "musician hat" and listen to the most talented guys i can find. So, being the elitist snob musician i am, i may be inclined to input that "today's music" is another term for "Pop music" and "Pop music" is "Popular Opinion" more than music period. Look at the abominations in America that are American idol, or America's got Talent... Look at the vortex of culture that is MTV... "today's music" isnt about sound, "today's music" isnt about meaning, its about man made ideals that performers are carved into to fit a mold... Said performers dont even need to be talented. That's what auto tune is for... "Today's Music" isnt what sucks today, its the lemmings that encourage suits to factory make garbage and call it music.

Newsflash. The average young adult for instance cares about money, sex, love, drugs, looking cool/pretty, partying, and all that is popular. That's big money to receive income from. Which is precisely why the music industry does it's best to stick to what sounds good to the majority than the minority. I'm within the minority for I listen to what moves me, but I'm delicate with buddies who listen to what they think is cool....even if I cringe at music I'm not fond of. I understand your sentiment, but as Landslide says: music was never dominated by intelligence. Not to be an ass, but you're not a true music guy if you keep sticking around places that don't suit your fancy. And it's particularly never good to say today's music is horrible. Sometimes you gotta be more open-minded and try stuff out and literally listen to it to find alternative favorite music. But that's just my opinion. Here's my dogmatic analogy for you: Why should I keep watching anime that irks me when I can find what suits me as to listen to music that irks me when I can find what suits me?

I thought music today sucked too, but when it comes to what is new and popular that sucks. whatever genre it is if it gets played on the radio its most likely gonna suck. For bands that came out in early 2000's I like All Shall Perish, Salt the Wound, Winds of Plague and for bands after 05 Whitechapel, The Faceless, and Oceano. Right now I'm listening to the album Of Winter Born by Ignominious Incarceration.

It seems like those of us who like the older stuff are more or less screwed. Sometimes I wish older bands would get back in the game but that usually isn't pretty when it happens. Some of em can come kinda close, I can only imagine how much more epic this would be if John would get over it and hire a second guitarist again-

Head, and David both need to come back. All their current albums to come out after See you on the Other Side have been pure shit. Pretty much been equivalent to Metallica's St. Anger but if it got released multiple times. By the way KoRn is my favorite band I will always love them they were my first exposure to metal in general. Once I found out about them I started to look into more and more metal. I will always be thankful to them for that. I went through a long phase of KoRn before I got into the heavier metal that I am now into.
