To stick or not to stick, that's the ?

I play on a 360. I want to get better. I'm getting there. ...slowly. I also want to know if I should be using a game stick instead of the 360 controller. Is there a definite advantage of gamestick over controller? I understand there are better and worse sticks (TE's etc), better and worse buttons, better and worse brand names (albeit the Hori cheapo does come with the spiffy SCIV characters on it ;) ) . But from ground zero, if I intend to get somewhat decent at this game, am I better off learning on a stick?

I appreciate all opinions. ...except those from haters :) .

ive no experience using kilik, so cant say much on that. but yes the 360 pad is notoriously bad for this game, are you using the d-pad or the stick? but to be honest its not actually that bad, i can get all of setsuka's inputs 100% and most of my characters are 236 orientated, and although i used to curse the 360 d-pad i have no problems with it now. i guess its just whatever suits you best. have you tried a stick before? my votes for the crappy 360 pad.

I use the stick on the controller. I have no feel for the dpad. I have not tried a game stick. ... well, except back in the day at arcades. Thanks for the input, PJ.

you definatly need to get used to the d-pad, analog stick is horrible for any fighting games.

Interesting. Is it more "precise"? I seem to be able to pull off some more techy moves with the analog and not the d pad (Asura Dance), but I did not try for very long with the D pad. I'll give it another shake. I still would like to switch to a game stick if it is that much better.
