Your favorite music and why..

Almost forgot this one too.

LOL! Oh gawd, i saw these guys at the AMA's and was lol'ing the whole time, even more so after i realized what there group name was.

But this is the first time i've seen the video...sweet merciful heavens.. that much man-revealing should never ever be done, ever never never ever!

I only watched it cuz i was curious, like the song but nightmare inducement may happen.

In general i like songs with positive messages, granted it depends on my mood, because sometimes i take solace in negative songs.

As for genre's, many, only recently though i've broaden my horizens, so far dubstep, choir beats, hybrid rock fury and a few others are to my liking. there's so much i forget now actually. very versatile might as well say.

here's two very dark yet true examples that hit home.

Mostly Industrial Metal ATM

But i also like stuff like this
And this is an all time favorite, also partly Industrial Metal :D

You have great taste. It's reassuring to know that there is indeed hope for the future generation :)

Maycn Taylor is awesome, especially for how young she was. Her style and method of playing was unique, and that's to be admired.

Why thank you, and the only difference really between her then and now is (apart from increased guitar skills) she sings as well.

Now I'll pull out some of the heavier stuff from my collection, ha, and this epic dutch band.I won't bother posting Opeth, or Katatonia, but if you haven't heard of those two, they are very much worth your time!

Down From Up - Victim (the youtube idiot spelled it wrong)
Yeah they're a Christian band but they have an amazing guitarist. Also they get a mention for doing a 8 minute "Tour-of-Led-Zepp-Covers" song, which actually was pretty good.

Nightwish - Bye Bye Beautiful (the real band is actually playing the chorus, for those who miss the joke XD)

Novembre - Materia, an Italian band, cannot remember where I first heard them.

3 - My Divided Falling, another great band. I saw them when they opened for Porcupine Tree a few years ago

and Finally

That epic Dutch band (well they're not technically a band, but whatever)

Ayreon - The Sixth Extinction - 12 minutes, but soooo awesome.

Enjoy!

EDIT: Oh by they way, if you don't like the Ayreon track, at least stick around till the 3:35 mark, and you'll hear probably the most amazing pairing of death growling and clean female vocals I've ever heard.

EDIT AGAIN: My iTunes just shuffled to a Kaki King song, amazing guitarist as well, even if she is an angry lesbian.

Not to mention more great guitarists

- Alex De Grass
- Phil Keaggy
- Micheal Hedges... RIP
ect..

Another music thread? Well I do love music to it's core components, so I'll take it as a good thread :D

I listen to Visual Kei, Oshare Kei, Jrock, Jpop, Classical, Video game OST, Anime OST, and if I'm in the mood, I'll listen to Big Band stuff. The reason why? It sounds good to me. That and the musical qualities of some of them are spectacular (see the tempo in the classical video).

Examples/current favorites are as follows:
