Your favorite music and why..

I tend to listen to j-pop, j-rock/metal, j-urban, old school hip hop, jazz, sometimes classical, pop, rnb, techno/bass/house music, a bit of mainstream, and music from games/movies/etc. Will post examples later....

I can't stand most mainstream music.

I am mostly a heavy metal and Jazz fan, but this one artist I'm about to show you is tipping my scale in the Jazz side heavily. I mean jeez, this guy has more skill that ANYONE I've ever seen, period.

Your thoughts, and favorite music needs to be shared.. What music is so moving to you that you actually cry?

Macyn Taylor - she is recording an album with my uncle at his studio, I've seen her play live once, she is one of the best guitarists I know. She recorded the video below when she was 14, I think she's about 17 or 18 now.

Porcupine Tree is "the best band you've never heard of" I own just about everything they've done. They're amazing. If you listen closely, you can hear him speaking the lyrics as well. Considering the lyrical content of the song, it turns up the creepy meter, haha! 'Deadwing' is probably my favorite album by them,

And finally if Thomas Bergersen doesn't move you, you have no soul.

You have great taste. It's reassuring to know that there is indeed hope for the future generation :)

Maycn Taylor is awesome, especially for how young she was. Her style and method of playing was unique, and that's to be admired.

Thomas Bergesen is great in his own way as well. Not exactly my genre but I can recognize talent and creativity.
