Aside from the SC series...the Ninja Gaiden games (from NES to ninja gaiden 2) are among my alltime favorites. The story is a little weird, but the gameplay is tops for me, and also a challenge. Have you ever tried to beat that on the Master Ninja difficulty. Took me weeks to get through it
