a 1969 cadillac convertable or was it a 1961? because i would rather get in car accident with a car that has a steel frame than one with i think aluminum(?) or plastic(?) frame.

I think you have a misconception here. You WANT the frame to take the impact otherwise you'll be taking it. Those squishier metals soften the blow on your body. The older cars that were considered death traps were made with stronger metals than cars are made with today.
