Fair enough. I'll probably stick to Raphael for a while, I'm trying to get out of button-mashing and the fencer mentality seems to force that. Once I get a grasp on things, I'll probably branch out to Mitsurugi, and maybe try out some of the new ones in the story mode. I live in Illinois, going to college at ISU (I live off campus and work, so gaming club probably won't work out).
I joined because I want to try my hand at games that aren't shooters or roleplay, and my internet was too laggy for Starcraft. I still don't get the appeal; it seems too fast-paced for real strategy, and the matches are a bit short for any involved epicness, but I'm slowly getting into it. I also joined for the support: despite buying it for me, my girlfriend doesn't see the point in fighting games, and I don't have any friends to invite and play with, so it can be a bit hard to find a reason to keep playing.
As for me personally, I'm wrapping up a bachelor's degree in mathematics and having a *slight* "oh my god my major is useless and I've wasted 4 years of my life" crisis. My girlfriend has been dating me for 5 years, and we've been dating each other for a year and a half (I'm thick, and possibly blind). On a personal level that can only be shared anonymously with strangers on the internet, I've been seeing a psychiatrist at my family's request. Funny story, actually: of all the things that get people out of bed in the morning, I had none of them and felt totally fine. This was apparently, and I quote, "not normal", "deeply disturbing", and "what the ^#$% dude?". I think it's hilarious.
So, that's me in a nutshell. Questions?
