Why do people like First Person Shooter so much?

I just kill everyone with Grenade Launcher, RPG and Semtex and Danger Close. Otherwise COD isn't very fun. Everyone sucks online.
 
I play uncompetitive FPS because they are uncompetitive. I find competitive FPS outside of Quake to be uninteresting to both play and watch. That said, I've played Quake for ages, and moved on because it is hard to play the same thing for years. Plus, modern FPS are great and not half as bad as people like to claim.
 
CoD is OVERRATED and OVERSIMPLIFIED. Most players on Xbox Live are little 12 year old punks who need to learn how to play something with depth and meaning, not just shooting other people or disarming bombs. Unlike alot of games, CoD is not an art form neither is Halo, Medal of Honor, or most other FPS. The main reason this whole debacle about violent video games in California is BECAUSE of CoD, Halo, etc; although Mortal Kombat is also to blame...anyway a GOOD FPS is TF2, Quake, Doom, and Counterstrike.
